A couple days after the Thai massage, my back pain seemed worse than ever. I updated my review and was almost immediately contacted my Siam. They really care about how their customers feel! We spoke and she suggested I try the aroma massage instead. Thai massage just isn't for everyone I think! Also, I really didn't know what I was getting myself into and probably didn't need strong pressure. Anyway, I came back for the aroma which is like a combination of Swedish & Thai - it was great. I've been here 3 times, as a former professional massage therapist, I have to say that these people do things far beyond what I was capable of and it's AMAZING! I've recommended it to all of my friends. My massage therapist PAULA have amazing skill and technique and are perfect for anyone like me who's worried about a lack of pressure. Nelly is wonderful if you just want a nice relaxing massage after a hard day. My preference is for PAULA who work very deep into tissue and do a lot of full body stretches (it's Thai massage after all!)

There were these two knots that would not budge unless I got the really deeeeep massage (but my body's too weak). Mary tried her best to press out my knots without hurting me (thumbs up to her!). She put coconut oil over my body as she worked, making it easier for area transitions. The oil felt more like a lotion combination, smoothing and rejuvenating my skin. I rarely write reviews. I like massage and I have tried a lot of massage places. Finally, I found Siam Orchid! This place is very cute, I have gone through many times but have no chance to try it. One day I was looking Thai massage on Yelp, the siam orchid has a lot of good reviews, so I decided to give them a try. I've been there 3 times, everyone was amazing. Today I need a deep tissue massage so I went there without an appointment. The place is quiet and clean, staffs were friendly and professional. I picked the 90 mins deep tissue massage with the female masseuse, the front desk sent me to the room then ready for my massage. During the massage, my masseuse was pretty professional, she used the right amount of pressure and always asked me If I ok. She recommended walking on my body gently, she has a lot of experience. After my massage my body felt very soft and relaxed. I asked her name which Tanya, I read a lot of good reviews from Tanya. I finally know why Tanya so popular unite I tried her massage!! Lastly Siam Orchid has a discount for weekday 11am-3pm, which more affordable. I will definitely come back again!!

Wow! Thank you again, Yelpers! I've been dying for a massage, but I've been so busy in addition to my therapist being on vacation at my usual spot (right upstairs). I called last night when I finished work and asked for an 8p appointment for 90 minutes and boom, appointment was made - 5 Stars right there. Upon walking in, I was greeted by 2 females who were both very nice, gave me compliments, which again, earned 5 stars; I came after work in scrubs, and I knew I looked like crap lol! We chit chatted for a few minutes and she escorted me right into the room. The bed was so amazingly soft! I swear the massage beds have down stitched into it somewhere. I waited a few minutes and a lady walked in, but I didn't get her name. The massage started off rather mediocre, kind of like a first blind date where you don't expect much. We talked the whole time, and I was totally fine with that, and about 30 minutes in I thought - meh, nothing great. She started working towards my legs, but I had told her in the beginning that my shoulders were the culprit of my pain for over a month. Mid conversation I politely asked to refocus on my shoulders and THAT'S when the magic happened. She worked them bad boys like a scorned ex gf. I'm hurting today, but I feel so much better. Granted, not ALL my pain is gone, but I feel much more comfortable going through my day today. I will gladly return! Thank you for a great first time experience.

The only downfall is that this place isn't one of the posh, tranquility type places like Asha (get extra pampered, zero sound/noises in entire facility, heated beds etc) - unfortunately I could clearly hear through the walls of conversations taking place but they didn't last long so it didn't really bother me.

Part of the 90 minute massage also involved stretching certain muscles. At the end of the 90 minutes, even though I was a little bit sore from the deep tissue massage, I felt a lot better. When the massage was over, I got dressed, went to the front counter, and paid as well as left a tip. While I used the Lyft app on my phone to get ride to get back to the Strip, I was offered a loyalty card. The only thing about the loyalty card is that it was created/made for 60 minute massages and not 90 minute massages since a 90 minute massage only gets 1 stamp on the card.

Fast forward to today my lower back was in so much pain I could barely move. My normal massage guy was booked, so I relented. BEST DECISION!! I went in for a 30 min massage before boarding my Vegas flight for vacation. Although 30 min is much too short, I still think it was the equivalent of an hour massage anywhere else. I spent my entire vacation pain free and when I asked my daughter to give me a neck massage a week later, she said she couldn't locate any superficial knots, which was a first! I highly recommend this place. I told Summer exactly where to put pressure and she obliged. She's very strong and talented. My back was a mess, and it hurt like hell, but the good kind of pain where I felt the knots melting away. Also I was sore for a few days, but honestly I would take soreness any day over a stiff and knotted back. Fyi-The spa certificates they sell at Costco are ineffective, you end up paying the same amount. All in all amazing experience, do the 1 hour massage minimum - you won't be sorry!

Thai massage isn’t nicknamed “yoga for lazy people” for nothing. Clients such as Pete who are into performance don’t necessarily take adequate time for stretching compared to how hard they push their bodies. Roger still isn’t totally comfortable with taking his clothes off and he likes that some of the Thai stretches he can do at home in between treatments.

This also means there are now two locations that I can go to see my favorite therapist. I normally get 60 min for $65, but when you get couples, you save $5 each...need deep work? Relaxation? Or Stretch? All the therapists at Thai Spa will provide you with the same price...ask for the stamp card to accumulate 10 and get next one for free. I was told that you can get all the locations in one card. There is no shower or fancy changing room...just you, therapist, and table.

There can also be neurological side effects due to massage and need investigation. Although there has never been any official report about this, the problem of brain hemorrhage in infants due to traditional massage applied to the mothers during pregnancy has been reported.[6,7] In fact, application of traditional massage to infants can directly cause testes hemorrhage and such other internal hemorrhages in infants. Finally, the risk of embolism due to applying massage to carotid area needs to be mentioned. This can be the cause of cardiac arrhythmias and cerebrovascular accidents that can further result in sudden death (in the latest indexed case, this cannot be rule out to be a cause). It will be of interest to note that in the present clinical practice, there are no guidelines for the practitioners for history taking and monitoring of vital signs of the patient before, during and after massage.
