This is possibly the best massage I have had. They are very welcoming and addressed all of my sore and tight muscles. It was extremely relaxing. It is very clean and professional. I will visit here when I'm in the area for sure. They are able to accept appointments to accommodate your schedule. They have a parking lot and it's very close to Woodfield mall.

This is heaven for your body. As soon as you walk in the place, the very smell, not overpowering or disturbing, but permeating everything with that sort of unnameable olfactory root of peace and energy, will guide to bliss. The service here is exemplary - I even booked an appointment for my mother - who is .. at best .. demanding and has special physical needs. The staff were amazing with her - she even enjoyed the experience and emerged, with their solicitous assistance, as zenned out as I've ever seen her. The massages ... otherworldly - great if you're athletic or prone to wildly intense workouts, some of the stretches and manipulations that they perform are nothing short of magical. The prices are completely reasonable.
Burynski came home and saw how quickly she could help clients with chronic problems. As she began to integrate Thai massage stretches into her table massage, her clients would speak up: “That feels amazing,” they would say. Eventually, Burynski returned to Thailand for further instruction, and then went on to become an instructor, opening her own Thai massage school, Living Sabai, in Asheville.

This is the real deal. Yes, the exterior (outside plaza) might make you think otherwise but trust me, the place is legit. Inside the room was clean; I liked how they had all white sheets and towels. Some massage places have darker sheets/towels which kind of grosses me out. Anyways, I went here based on my fellow yelpers' reviews and I was not disappointed. I've been having lower back pains, stiff neck and knotted shoulders (because I'm a stylist)....and let me tell ya, right after I was done with the 1.5 hour long massage, I felt like I was on a cloud. My back pain was gone and the lady loosened up all my knots. This is a Thai massage so just a little reminder that most of your massage is going to be done by feet, stepping on your back, etc.

**Do not forget to tip these lovely ladies!!!** Although it is not customary to tip in Japanese culture, these ladies are a Thai business AND masseuses. Two exceptions to the Japanese No Tip rule. This is a great place to reset your body after exploring all over Tokyo!! My boyfriend and I were on day 3 of exploring Tokyo, with 20miles of walking under our belts. Our feet were sore, our bodies were tired.. we NEEDED the Thai Traditional and Reflexology massages. Eri and Oh came to our rescue! The massages were so great we made an appointment to come back before our Japan trip was over haha.. They respond very very quickly to Line messages. Download the app and message them.

Eric Spivack, who is a Thai massage practitioner and instructor based in Seattle, Washington, found this out first hand. Plagued with repetitive neck, shoulder and hand injuries, Spivack considered giving up his practice—and then he attended a Thai massage demonstration. “It was the first time I ever saw a therapist use feet,” he says. He has now been to Thailand 10 times, studying under nearly two dozen different teachers, and runs his own Thai massage school, Soaring Crane Massage & Acupuncture in Seattle.

For routine general health and well-being. Full body massage using pressure points with passive yoga stretching. No oil is used. At Suchada, we perform authentic traditional Thai massage the way it is practiced in Thailand. The massage is done on a mat with the client fully-clothed. In Thailand, a traditional Thai massage session last two hours. For your best experience, we recommend a 2 hour combination of a Thai massage and foot reflexology. $73 / 1 hr. $110 / 1.5 hrs. $140 / 2 hrs.
My husband and I come here frequently. He has sciatic, psoas pain and I have all sorts of pain (tmj, neck, back, metatarsalgia, de quervain, etc lol). He discovered this thru yelp, after trying out numerous massage services in the bay area & weve almost given up. We never considered going to a Chiro either. Thai massage is hard massage, we just couldn't get anywhere else. We tried many other massage places but we always come back here. Unlike other massage places, any staff you get here will give you the same effect, and no one is not good enough or no single staff stands out cause any of them does. There's no one massager that you need to wait for to get an appointment. We call to schedule an appt but we never request for anyone and still get the same results. Their massage is like assisted yoga, take a pause here and imagine that...I mean, dont drink anything with milk or whipped cream, if youre even slightly lactose intolerant...before the sesh...if u get what i mean. Their restroom is nice too. The trick is to not resist but to trust, give in and relax your body while they're doing their thing. We call this our "therapy". We do feel like newborns every after session, ready to go back to our desk jobs, fresh. Sometimes, after the massage, we eat at the next door Vietnamese restaurant. It feels like a mini quick vacation.
Siam Thai Massage & Spa was absolutely awesome. I had massages before, but it was my first time gett...ing Thai Massage there when I was on vacation with my boyfriend. I absolutely loved it. I would go back there at anytime. It is unfortunate that I do not live in Honolulu because if I did, I would be going there every week. Nicole is the massage therapist that I had. She was amazing. The facility was clean, and everything about it was so romantic and relaxing. I left the room totally relaxed and highly impressed of what Thai massage is all about. See More

...It is very important to ALWAYS speak up and let your therapist know if you need the pressure to be corrected, (i.e. if you need them to lighten up because it is too deep, or to apply more because it is not deep enough). Most everyone needs more pressure in some areas and less in others. This occurs because muscle tissue that contains Trigger Points is more sensitive to pressure and can be tender to the touch.

Aquatic bodywork comprises a diverse set of massage and bodywork forms performed in water. This includes land-based forms performed in water (e.g., Aquatic Craniosacral Therapy, Aquatic Myofascial Release Therapy, etc.), as well as forms specific to warm water pools (e.g., Aquatic Integration, Dolphin Dance, Healing Dance, Jahara technique, WaterDance, Watsu).[31]

Peer-reviewed medical research has shown that the benefits of massage include pain relief, reduced trait anxiety and depression, and temporarily reduced blood pressure, heart rate, and state of anxiety.[79] Additional testing has shown an immediate increase and expedited recovery periods for muscle performance.[80] Theories behind what massage might do include enhanced skeletal muscle regrowth and remodeling,[81] blocking nociception (gate control theory),[82] activating the parasympathetic nervous system, which may stimulate the release of endorphins and serotonin, preventing fibrosis[83] or scar tissue, increasing the flow of lymph, and improving sleep.[10][84]

I'm no newbie when it comes to receiving massage therapy. I periodically indulge myself to a 60-minute session when I travel for work (I'm way too busy at home to do this!) Having had scoliosis since a child and receiving chiropractic for almost 30 years, I find that a good massage therapist complements my chiropractic care. Of all the massage therapists I've seen for the past ten years, Thai Massage Therapy is head and shoulders above the rest! For the first time, I received help for my sciatic issues, as well as pressure point treatment, lymphatic massage, and helpful stretching. Quite painful at various points, my therapist nevertheless knew exactly how to focus on on the most problematic areas. It's the kind of discomfort I know is productive and healing - for greater flexibility, pressure point release, muscle relaxation, resulting in improved function of my joints and systems. Go see them! I can't highly recommend them enough!!!
One of the greatest Persian medics was Avicenna, also known as Ibn Sina, who lived from 980AD to 1037AD. His works included a comprehensive collection and systematisation of the fragmentary and unorganised Greco-Roman medical literature that had been translated Arabic by that time, augmented by notes from his own experiences. One of his books, Al-Qānūn fī aṭ-Ṭibb (The Canon of Medicine) has been called the most famous single book in the history of medicine in both East and West. Avicenna excelled in the logical assessment of conditions and comparison of symptoms and took special note of analgesics and their proper use as well as other methods of relieving pain, including massage.

The Masseur is trained in Classical Massage, Myofascial Massage, Exercise and Movement Therapy. During the training they will study: Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Gynecology, Podiatry, Psychiatry, Psychology, Surgery, and probably most importantly Dermiatry and Orthopedics. They are trained in Electrotherapy, and Hydrotherapy. Hydrotherapy includes: Kneipp, Wraps, underwater Massage, therapeutic washing, Sauna and Steambath. A small part of their training will include special forms of massage which are decided by the local college, for example: Foot reflex zone massage, Thai Massage etc. Finally a graduate is allowed to treat patients under the direction of a doctor. He is regulated by the professional body which regulates Physiotherapists. This includes the restriction on advertising and oath of confidentiality to clients.[citation needed]
To prevent further sports pain or injury, it’s important to learn the proper techniques for lifting weights and performing certain cardio exercises. Taking frequent breaks and wearing the proper outfit and protective gear can also significantly help reduce future pain and inflammation. If you’re unsure about your form and technique, ask a personal trainer, coach, or trusted teammate for help. Find the best sports massage in Calgary at Mantra Wellness Centre.

Came here on a Sunday for my first Thai massage ever! My therapist was Eva–it was quite enjoyable, not sure if it was “amazing” since it was my first one. I had the Thai-Swedish combo and I felt like they could have worked on my back more though. The ladies were very nice, and the ambience pretty relaxing, I would definitely come back for the price and location, and happy hours are weekdays $45 before 2:00 pm. Free street parking on Sunday, otherwise they have a lot in the back, but limited parking spots. Overall did the job and got the relaxation I was overdue for!
Renowned for services ranging from eyelash extensions and laser hair removal to chakra balancing and chi revitalizing, Bangkok is host to an exotic and bizarre array of treatments and therapies. A quintessential component to this multi-faceted jamboree, traditional Thai massage is perhaps the most well-known and celebrated of Bangkok's pampering services. As the Japanese delicately knead flesh in accordance with Shiatsu and the Chinese offer rubs following principles of Tui-Na, Thailand presents a signature massage technique involving traditional systems of holistic beliefs.
Being from LA, I was in Chicago for the first time and was exhausted exploring the city over the weekend for straight 3 days. Started looking for a authentic place for a massage and came across Chinese Traditional Massage on google/yelp and checked out the websote which was authentic and also read some great reviews on yelp. I prefer the chinese massage over traditional massages as its reaches your energy body and is intense not superficial. Read some great yelp reviews mentioning massage therapists name as Summer. I asked for a 1 hour Tui Na level2 massage from Summer. It was the best massage i have had in my life. I have had massages across LA for several years now. This was the most intense precise and detailed massage i have ever had. The energy in her hands is amazing. She has great knowledge of the body and how to relieve stress from each area of the body. I cannot describe it in words, you have to experience it for yourself. I would love to get a massage from Summer again. Its total value for the price. She gives more than 100% to ensure you have the best massage. Highly recommended!!

So glad I came here yesterday. I typically go to a Thai massage down the street but they were not available. So I tried this place out. The owner knows how to run her business and her staff was on point. My massage therapist, Hannah was a sweetheart and she made me very comfortable. Her authentic Thai style massage was incredible. I even loved taking a shower in the shower room after my scrub. The clean towels were so soft and smelled good. Excellent level of cleanliness here.

This is such an unusual place. Not sure how they got all these fabulous reviews. The first time I decided to try it, I called and made an appointment. The woman who answered the phone didn't really speak english, so when I told her that I wanted to make an appointment she kept saying "ok ok ok". I felt that she didn't understand. I showed up to the appointment the following day and the person at the front was so confused when I told her I had an appointment. Needless to say she begrudgingly took me back to a room and left. Another woman comes in and starts massaging. As she is massaging I notice loud chewing sounds. Turns out she was chewing gum loudly and popping it too! I had never experienced anything like that during a msaage! The massage itself was ok with deep pressure, and they offered cupping therapy. They never bother to ask you why you are there or what your preferences are. Even when I kept asking her to focus on my neck and shoulders she just tried to follow her own routine and seemed annoyed. I decided to give it another try, so called again to make an appointment, and sure enough a woman answered and seemed confused when I requested the appointment. I asked if summer was there since I read great reviews about her. The woman started yelling at me!!! Honestly this place is so shady and unprofessional, I don't know how hell they got all these supposed stellar reviews on multipe sites like tripadvisor and thumbtack. For 70$ you can find so many other wonderful, professional and attentive massage places in the area.
I found this place a few months ago and it has since become a favorite spa to visit. I have lived/worked in China many years and know exactly what high level, well-trained, quality Chinese bodywork is. I've had every style performed many, many times. I usually visit Lily. We are now good friends, can practice Chines/English together during our sessions and know each other well. From the very first time I came to Chinese Traditional Massage, Lily was very friendly, professional, found out about all my past surgeries and did a great appointment. I visit about once a week. I always look forward to seeing Lily and having another great visit with her. Hey laoban...Xia Yun anmo feichong, feichong hao he ta shi hen li mao. Wo juede Xia Yun hen mei li...ke yi le? One of the most remarkable healing techniques on the planet. Works with the pulses of the energy pathways known as meridians in Chinese medicine. The term tui na (pronounced "twee naw"), which literally means "pinch and pull," refers to a wide range of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) therapeutic massage and body work. People in the West may refer to Chinese massage as tui na.

Thai massage draws significant influence from India's ancient Ayurvedic traditions of medical practice.  Ayurvedic medicine, also a holistic form of healing, plays an integral role in the practice of both Hinduism and Therevada Buddhism. Monks and similar practitioners of healing transmitted Ayurvedic techniques to Thailand some 2,500 years ago, thus giving birth to the wonderful phenomenon that is Thai massage.

Proprioceptive studies are much more abundant than massage and proprioception combined, yet researchers are still trying to pinpoint the exact mechanisms and pathways involved to get a fuller understanding.[93] Proprioception may be very helpful in rehabilitation, though this is a fairly unknown characteristic of proprioception, and "current exercises aimed at 'improving proprioception' have not been demonstrated to achieve that goal".[94] Up until this point, very little has been studied looking into the effects of massage on proprioception. Some researchers believe "documenting what happens under the skin, bioelectrically and biochemically, will be enabled by newer, non-invasive technology such as functional magnetic resonance imaging and continuous plasma sampling".[92]
