Siam Thai Massage & Spa was absolutely awesome. I had massages before, but it was my first time gett...ing Thai Massage there when I was on vacation with my boyfriend. I absolutely loved it. I would go back there at anytime. It is unfortunate that I do not live in Honolulu because if I did, I would be going there every week. Nicole is the massage therapist that I had. She was amazing. The facility was clean, and everything about it was so romantic and relaxing. I left the room totally relaxed and highly impressed of what Thai massage is all about. See More

It's been about a week since I went. I was definitely pleased with my massage. I have gone to a place in mililani but My husbands client recommended I go here so I said "hey why not it's another massage therapist recommending me go there" so I did. It was the best he ever. I dozed off here and there. Wasn't to rough on me. I'm super sensitive to people rubbing my knots. They usually are painful but not here. I'll definitely be going back in a few weeks. The staff was super nice. I enjoyed my ginger honey tea after my massage as well. Much mahalos ladies.
Wow! It's a day after my massage and I still feel the healing and relaxing effects. Supinya did an amazing job targetting my neck and shoulders. I feel she must get a lot of people who work at desks all day and suffer from the strains of computer usage. I called around noon and they fit me in for 5:15pm with no waiting time and no rush. The manager and the massuers are all Thai ruk Thai and were very kind and pleasant. It's $60 for an hour, and you should tip. However, I am planning on going here monthly as a treat- yo- self splurge. I'm glad to live in a community where immigrants and women of color can get rewarded for their craft and skill. Krupkhunjao!
March Madness indeed. March was a busy month that contained flu's, cold weather, and extra cuddles but March is Birthday month for Mary so that means, as we locals would say, "go big or go home". We enjoy spa/massage experiences wherever it may be or what is offered; therefore, it was only right to treat her self - with a massage. Usually, it means I get to tag along for the experience; her birthday is a joy for all. Yay! Through the joys of social media, we noticed a few of our friends visiting a place named Siam Thai Massage & Spa, on a regular basis. It was our first time visiting but we called, booked a couples package and scheduled right away - As far as timing and flexibility, we were running a solid thirty minutes behind our appointment time but the staff at Siam Thai were gracious enough to start later with no interruptions to other customers.
The therapist uses his or her hands, knees, legs, and feet to move you into a series of yoga-like stretches and also applies deep muscle compression, joint mobilization, and acupressure. Thai massage also utilizes energy work, which, according to ancient Asian culture, treats the subtle energetic field within the body. It corrects blockages, deficiencies, and imbalances in the flow of this energy, which then is believed to improve the client's health.
A couple days after the Thai massage, my back pain seemed worse than ever. I updated my review and was almost immediately contacted my Siam. They really care about how their customers feel! We spoke and she suggested I try the aroma massage instead. Thai massage just isn't for everyone I think! Also, I really didn't know what I was getting myself into and probably didn't need strong pressure. Anyway, I came back for the aroma which is like a combination of Swedish & Thai - it was great. All the stretching and deep muscle work of Thai with the relaxation of a Swedish massage. I'll definitely be back for another! Thanks Siam Orchid!

At Siam Thai Massage, traditional techniques provide sore patients with full-body relief. During massages, therapists gradually shift clients between yoga-like positions and apply gentle, rhythmic pressure and slow stretches to help soothe stiffness and improve flexibility. Thai reflexology treatments focus on the feet to stimulate other parts of the body, and deep-tissue massages work out tough, painful knots.

In New Zealand, massage is unregulated. There are two levels of registration with Massage New Zealand, the professional body for massage therapists within New Zealand, although neither of these levels are government recognised. Registration at the Certified Massage Therapist level denotes competency in the practice of relaxation massage. Registration at the Remedial massage therapist denotes competency in the practice of remedial or orthopedic massage. Both levels of registration are defined by agreed minimum competencies and minimum hours.[104]
Got a 90 min. Thai massage for $100 with $5 discount through yelp or their website. Left $20 tip. Clean establishment. It begins face down with only your underwear on, if you choose. Make sure your face is properly centered in the face pad because you will get a proper stretching, so your upper body and pelvis area will be thoroughly pressed in a good way. Professional massage. Easy parking. Called in an almost immediate appointment.
My husband and I come here frequently. He has sciatic, psoas pain and I have all sorts of pain (tmj, neck, back, metatarsalgia, de quervain, etc lol). He discovered this thru yelp, after trying out numerous massage services in the bay area & weve almost given up. We never considered going to a Chiro either. Thai massage is hard massage, we just couldn't get anywhere else. We tried many other massage places but we always come back here. Unlike other massage places, any staff you get here will give you the same effect, and no one is not good enough or no single staff stands out cause any of them does. There's no one massager that you need to wait for to get an appointment. We call to schedule an appt but we never request for anyone and still get the same results. Their massage is like assisted yoga, take a pause here and imagine that...I mean, dont drink anything with milk or whipped cream, if youre even slightly lactose intolerant...before the sesh...if u get what i mean. Their restroom is nice too. The trick is to not resist but to trust, give in and relax your body while they're doing their thing. We call this our "therapy". We do feel like newborns every after session, ready to go back to our desk jobs, fresh. Sometimes, after the massage, we eat at the next door Vietnamese restaurant. It feels like a mini quick vacation.

Our first Thai Massage and it was wonderful. I booked the 90 minute Royal Couples Massage package and thanks to some protest in the City, we were 5 minutes late. So because of that, we had to cut our massage time early but the lady in the front was nice enough to discount us for the inconvenience. We got to use the steam room afterwards too, which was very clean and spacious for showering/getting ready after. The masseuses were both ladies but we didn't catch their names. They were very professional and damn, do they know how to get those knots out! If I worked or lived out in SF, I'd be here more often, especially for that Office Syndrome Massage I saw listed. I would highly recommend the Royal Couples Package if you're looking for a relaxing date day. It's def worth the price.

Siam's location is in mid-Market; not the best location and parking can be a challenging (best to use Uber or Lyft).  But inside the environment is very serene with wood interior and the sound of water flowing.   They have a large number of masseuses here at any given time- I believe ~8 so they often have availability, provided you schedule.  Cost is $90 for a 1 hour swedish oil massage, and $5 discount if you pay by cash.  Some of the masseuses have their own unique hours; for example Judy often starts at 2 PM on.  You can also request a massage table if you prefer (which is elevated and I find allows for better breathing), versus the ground mat that is common in thai massage.  Siam also has a steam room which is extra and showers.
Thank you for your kind review and your recommendations. We appreciate clients like yourself who are experiencing the real deal. Yes, we are different, and we are proud of that. We encounter a lot of individuals who are not understanding what we are about and it is so wonderful to us when we see clients not just believing in us but also describing their experiences with us. Thank you, Mari!!!

They also have a punch card - get 1 massage free after every 10 massages. It is $70/hour without tip and it is worth every penny. Technicians are never lazy and they work real hard the entire time (no taking 5 minutes to bring a towel, walking in/out, or getting lazy just patting your back for a few minutes). I really enjoy the place and I can't wait to go back
In fact, the history of Thai massage is more complex than this legend of a single founder would suggest. Thai massage, like Thai traditional medicine (TTM) more generally, is a combination of influences from Indian, Chinese, Southeast Asian cultural spheres, and traditions of medicine, and the art as it is practiced today is likely to be the product of a 19th-century synthesis of various healing traditions from all over the kingdom.[6] Even today, there is considerable variation from region to region across Thailand, and no single routine or theoretical framework that is universally accepted among healers.
While various types of reflexology related massage styles focus on the feet, massage of (usually) the soles of the feet is often performed purely for relaxation or recreation. It is believed there are some specific points on the feet that correspond to different organs in the body.[who?] Stimulation of these points during foot massage can cause significant reduction in pain.[citation needed] Studies also suggest that foot reflexology massage can reduce fatigue and promote better sleep.[45]

Been checking out different massage places looking for that "one"! I saw a review my friend did about this place and based on his comments, I had to bring my husband here to try it. I like that I could book my appointment using the yelp app, and Siam Thai responded right away. I requested for a 10:30a appt the following morning and was able to confirm a spot for myself and the hubster. The venue is easy to find, especially if you're using GPS, Waze or Google Maps. Tanya the Owner was great with the details of getting to the place and the parking situation. When we got in, there was a little misunderstanding on what type of appointment we set. I had requested 1 foot reflexology for me and 1 body massage for the hubby. They thought we were both getting a body massage and and then a foot reflexology. I see how this could have happen since the communication was with the owner instead of them. I liked that they put us both in the same room. After 5min's of my husband getting his massage, he knocked out!! I was surprised and not at the same time. I know his masseuse was just that good!! My masseuse was great, even though I only had a foot reflexology, it felt like my entire body got a massage. I felt relaxed and feeling so great! My husband couldn't stop raving about his massage and thai massage is now his favorite type! So, I would have given this place a 5 star as it deserves, however, I was turned off that my masseuse kept taking/making phone calls during our session. So much for getting that full relaxation experience. Not only was she on the phone, but she was trying to make conversation with the other masseuse...which she responded, but in a whisper tone. If not for this distraction, I would have given 5 stars.
Proprioceptive studies are much more abundant than massage and proprioception combined, yet researchers are still trying to pinpoint the exact mechanisms and pathways involved to get a fuller understanding.[93] Proprioception may be very helpful in rehabilitation, though this is a fairly unknown characteristic of proprioception, and "current exercises aimed at 'improving proprioception' have not been demonstrated to achieve that goal".[94] Up until this point, very little has been studied looking into the effects of massage on proprioception. Some researchers believe "documenting what happens under the skin, bioelectrically and biochemically, will be enabled by newer, non-invasive technology such as functional magnetic resonance imaging and continuous plasma sampling".[92]
