I'm no newbie when it comes to receiving massage therapy. I periodically indulge myself to a 60-minute session when I travel for work (I'm way too busy at home to do this!) Having had scoliosis since a child and receiving chiropractic for almost 30 years, I find that a good massage therapist complements my chiropractic care. Of all the massage therapists I've seen for the past ten years, Thai Massage Therapy is head and shoulders above the rest! For the first time, I received help for my sciatic issues, as well as pressure point treatment, lymphatic massage, and helpful stretching. Quite painful at various points, my therapist nevertheless knew exactly how to focus on on the most problematic areas. It's the kind of discomfort I know is productive and healing - for greater flexibility, pressure point release, muscle relaxation, resulting in improved function of my joints and systems. Go see them! I can't highly recommend them enough!!!
You've probably seen these strange contraptions at conventions, the mall, nail parlors, and maybe even your office. Chair massages have you sitting face forward in a chair so the therapist can massage mostly your neck, shoulders, and back. The good thing is you don't have to take off your clothes or have oils slathered all over you. The bad thing is you don't get a thorough whole-body massage as you do with other methods, and, since this is often done in public places, it can be very distracting and not as relaxing. Depending on the massage therapist, however, a chair massage can really get the tension out of your upper body.

My body has been rather tight with knots and the massage that I got today really broke up those knots and the added stretching and cupping helped with the tightness I have been experiencing. I felt much more relaxed after my session. I look forward to my next session there.

After a quick foot soak and brush we were taken to our private room with 2 beds and asked to get ready. What an experience! For someone who's used to having the odd massage at a beauty salon or spa, Ive never really seen what the deal was, they never did anything for me and I just felt oily after. What a difference! This is the best Ive felt in a long time! Such a great massage, as I was feeling a bit tight, I asked not for a full body massage, but a focus on a back, neck and shoulders. Ive never felt pain like it, or heard as many clicks or crunches buy oh my was it worth it!

This is the best massage i have ever had. It was the first Thai massage i have had and i was greatly surprised on all the techniques used. My hole body felt relaxed after she stretched my body, used hot stones, massaged , and walked on my back. The whole staff was professional and very friendly. I would highly recommend getting a massage from this business.
In the US, licensure is the highest level of regulation and this restricts anyone without a license from practicing massage therapy or by calling themselves that protected title. Certification allows only those who meet certain educational criteria to use the protected title and registration only requires a listing of therapists who apply and meet an educational requirement. It is important to note that a massage therapist may be certified, but not licensed. Licensing requirements vary per state, and often require additional criteria be met in addition to attending an accredited massage therapy school and passing a required state specified exam (basically the certification requirements in many states). In the US, most certifications are locally based. However, as of March 2014, some states still do not require a license or a certification. However, this is thought to change eventually as more regulatory bodies governing the profession of massage are established in each state. Furthermore, some states allow license reciprocity where massage therapists who relocate can relatively easily obtain a license in their new state. Not all states provide this option.
I am pretty sure that was one of the best massages I have ever had. I asked for medium pressure and she was right on point. She checked in with me at the start of the session, because I had indicated I wanted attention placed on my back on the entry form. I confirmed that's where I would like her to spend most of her time and she did. That was really cool. I know it sounds simple, but every time I fill out those forms they never ask me to confirm and I end up getting a total body massage with attention never placed in one single area as I had hoped.
My wife and I came to Las Vegas for our honeymoon. After party's for several days, I invited the spouse to a massage. I found this place on Yep after discovering the (exorbitant) prices at the Aria, where we stayed. The ladies at this spa took us in right away. We were walk ins. My wife got a combination massage. I got a deep rub massage. I told the masseuse my problem areas. She walked on my back and legs after my approval. She was very thorough and efficient. I was like melting butter afterwards. Why not 5 stars? Although my wife enjoyed the massage, she felt that it was too hard at times. She would have preferred a licensed massage therapist. As for me, I kinda like it rough. I'd go back here next time we're im town.
Proprioceptive studies are much more abundant than massage and proprioception combined, yet researchers are still trying to pinpoint the exact mechanisms and pathways involved to get a fuller understanding.
