I've recommended it to all of my friends. My massage therapist PAULA have amazing skill and technique and are perfect for anyone like me who's worried about a lack of pressure. Nelly is wonderful if you just want a nice relaxing massage after a hard day. My preference is for PAULA who work very deep into tissue and do a lot of full body stretches (it's Thai massage after all!) This is better than anything you'd get at MassageEnvy. Mary, my masseuse, began on my upper back and worked her way down to my legs and then arms (my favorite part). And surprisingly, I had a lot of knots, especially on my upper back. There were these two knots that would not budge unless I got the really deeeeep massage (but my body's too weak). Mary tried her best to press out my knots without hurting me (thumbs up to her!). You definitely need to make an appointment. Thai massages are amazing, but if you've never had one be aware they put a lot of pressure on your back. They step on it, use elbows, anything they can to get to the problem. Yes, you will be sore the next day, and maybe the day after. But I assure you I only need to do this once a month as a necessary "mom massage." Being of Thai descent I can tell you they do an amazing job and worth every penny.
March Madness indeed. March was a busy month that contained flu's, cold weather, and extra cuddles but March is Birthday month for Mary so that means, as we locals would say, "go big or go home". We enjoy spa/massage experiences wherever it may be or what is offered; therefore, it was only right to treat her self - with a massage. Usually, it means I get to tag along for the experience; her birthday is a joy for all. Yay! Through the joys of social media, we noticed a few of our friends visiting a place named Siam Thai Massage & Spa, on a regular basis. It was our first time visiting but we called, booked a couples package and scheduled right away - As far as timing and flexibility, we were running a solid thirty minutes behind our appointment time but the staff at Siam Thai were gracious enough to start later with no interruptions to other customers. Parking was a bit complicated but only because it was our first time there and Hawaii traffic is no cake walk. The views, however, offer a 180-degree view from 26 floors up, overlooking most of Honolulu. The building is the tallest one with blue reflective glass, across a fun gaming place and, more prominently, the convention center. The mood was set romanticly for Mary's birthday. The spa room is decorated with heart petals on the bed. You can actually call ahead of time for any occasion and they will accommodate the occasion by decorating the room for you (extra charge). With the room decorated and the view of the city, it's a great combination! The awe-inspiring view as the sun cascaded down downtown Honolulu put our mind at ease immediately. We opted for the Siam Thai Experience (for two) which is $120 for 60 minutes. Being that it was Mary's birthday, we got an extra half hour. As for the magical masseuse massages, they were beyond words but here's our best interpretation: *engphhh, *crackkk, *aghhh. Realistically, it was a combination yoga poses, stretches and indubitably, a full body massage; so with that, let the mind run wild. Tip: keep underwear on. After the treatment, we were back to the lobby and surprised us with ice cream for Mary's birthday! Along with hot ginger green tea. We don't guarantee everyone will get ice cream, but hot tea will is served to everyone after the massage! In May 2015, there were reports of a death case of a patient who had undergone Thai traditional massage. The patient is reported to be a 37 year old Thai female who underwent Thai traditional massage and subsequently developed acute heart attack.
