Massage is to work and act on the body with pressure. Massage techniques are commonly applied with hands, fingers, elbows, knees, forearms, feet, or a device. The purpose of massage is generally for the treatment of body stress or pain. A person who was professionally trained to give massages was traditionally known as a masseur (male) or a masseuse (female). The title massage therapist has been recognized as a business norm.
Deep tissue massage is a focused, therapeutic massage that targets muscle knots (also known as "adhesions") and specific problem areas in the deeper layers of muscle and connective tissue. Using deliberate, slow strokes or friction across the grain of the muscle, the therapist addresses chronic tight or painful muscles, repetitive strain, postural problems, or injuries.
In a poll of 25–35-year-olds, 79% said they would like their health insurance plan to cover massage.[26] In 2006 Duke University Health System opened up a center to integrate medical disciplines with CAM disciplines such as massage therapy and acupuncture.[125] There were 15,500 spas in the United States in 2007, with about two-thirds of the visitors being women.[118]
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania-based massage therapist Beth Brown also finds that practicing Thai massage can help her deal with her own pain and stress. “If I am holding stress—a headache, for example, or tightness in my shoulder—doing a Thai massage often takes my pain away,” she says. Often, too, after a long day of massage, giving a Thai massage at the end of the day will rejuvenate her, as a yoga or meditation class might.
The use of seven essential oils placed along the spine and massaged into the body with featherlight movements. Raindrop has helped bring relief to chronic pain sufferers. It’s called “Raindrop” therapy due to the feeling of essential oils gently dripping along your back. The specific blend of essential oils is intended to relax sore or achy muscles, reduce pain and inflammation, improve circulation and immune functions, and cleanse the body’s systems. A specific blend of oils is utilized in raindrop therapy, so speak to your therapist about any sensitivities you might have.

We are very sorry to hear that you feel that the massage made your neck stiff. It's uncommon for the body to react in this way after an aroma therapy massage. As we discussed before perhaps it was other contributing factors that caused your stiff neck. Read more
Burmese massage is a full body massage technique that starts from head to toes, drawing on acupuncture, reflexology, and kneading. Signature massage strokes include acupressure using the elbows, quick gentle knocking of acupressure points, and slow kneading of tight muscles. The massage is aimed to improve blood circulation and quality of sleep, while at the same time help to promote better skin quality.
Because Thai massage is more rigorous than other forms of massage, it is more invigorating. The benefit of this is that you will walk away from your massage session feeling more energized. This is also a side-effect of relieving stress and increased circulation, but increased energy can also help you in other areas of your life, such as getting through slow afternoons at work.
I arrived early and was told that I should come back in ~30 minutes. Since the temperature was cold outside, I asked if I could stay inside and there wasn't an issue. I was told that I could lay on the bed while I waited but I decided I would just sit there. I used the Yelp app on my phone to check in and there was a discount. I spoke with the person behind the counter about the discount and I was informed that because I wanted a 90 minute massage and the 90 minute massage was already discounted, it would not apply. When the person was ready I was escorted to the room. Inside the room there were 2 massage beds. I was asked how long I wanted and I mentioned that I wanted 90 minutes. I was then asked to undress and go underneath the towel.
I've been here 3 times, as a former professional massage therapist, I have to say that these people do things far beyond what I was capable of and it's AMAZING! I've recommended it to all of my friends. My massage therapist PAULA have amazing skill and technique and are perfect for anyone like me who's worried about a lack of pressure. Nelly is wonderful if you just want a nice relaxing massage after a hard day. My preference is for PAULA who work very deep into tissue and do a lot of full body stretches (it's Thai massage after all!) This is better than anything you'd get at MassageEnvy. Spas around the Houston area which provide quality Thai Massage are incredibly rare.
While on vacation in Las Vegas, my upper back, shoulders, and neck were starting to get tired/tight from me lugging around my camera gear (DSLR camera, battery grip/pack, & speedlight flash) around my neck for 4 days at roughly 4 hours each day. My legs and feet were also tired from all the walking, standing, and running on the Strip. I was looking for a massage and the place that I was staying at offered massages but I found the prices to be too expensive. I had also tried the water massage beds offered in some malls (including the Showcase Mall) and although those water massage beds were relaxing, I preferred a more firm, deep tissue type massage to try to get rid of the knots that I was sure were building up in my shoulders & upper back. As luck would have it, there was a discussion forum about firm, deep tissue massages in the Las Vegas Talk forum. I checked out the prices and the review and called to make an appointment. Even factoring the Lyft ride to/from the place, I calculated the price to be less than how much it would cost me to get a similar type massage at the place I was staying at or any Strip hotel spa. When the person was ready I was escorted to the room. Inside the room there were 2 massage beds. I was asked how long I wanted and I mentioned that I wanted 90 minutes. I was then asked to undress and go underneath the towel. I was told that this place also specializes in back walking so I requested a few minutes of that. Above the massage tables are 2 bars so the massage therapist can hold on as to not apply all her weight on the customer. I thought that I could handle firm massages but Kim gave me one of the firmest, deep tissue massages that I've ever experienced. The oil that she used had a burning and soothing feeling to it. Part of the 90 minute massage also involved stretching certain muscles. At the end of the 90 minutes, even though I was a little bit sore from the deep tissue massage, I felt a lot better. When the massage was over, I got dressed, went to the front counter, and paid as well as left a tip. While I used the Lyft app on my phone to get ride to get back to the Strip, I was offered a loyalty card. The only thing about the loyalty card is that it was created/made for 60 minute massages and not 90 minute massages since a 90 minute massage only gets 1 stamp on the card. If you like firm (deep tissue) massages, this is the place to go.
I woke up with the worst neck pain and after dealing with it all day I called up Thai Spa Massage 2 and made an appointment for the same day. My Mom and sister went about a month before and loved it so I took my Dad and we headed over. For two 90 minute massages it was only $200 and we each had very spacious private rooms. They even have punch cards that you can use towards a free massage.
My fiancee and I got a couple's massage this weekend, utilizing their fall special, and we had a great experience. We're first timers to spas in general, but we were met with a kind staff who gave us good direction and communicated well. The massage itself was great. Head to toe and definitely worked out all the kinks I had in my body. Both of us felt so relaxed after the 90 minutes were up. And they give you an option of a hot tea or water after the massage is complete.
During the massage, my masseuse was pretty professional, she used the right amount of pressure and always asked me If I ok. She recommended walking on my body gently, she has a lot of experience. After my massage my body felt very soft and relaxed.  I asked her name which Tanya, I read a lot of good reviews from Tanya. I finally know why Tanya so popular unite I tried her massage!!
During hot stone massage, your body is not only weighted down with hot, smooth stones, but the masseuse also uses the stones to massage your body. It's like being caressed by the smoothest (rollerball-like) hands, but also being scorched by them for a "Yeeooowwww!….Ahhhhh" effect. A hot stone massage is mostly relaxing, but it also is more invigorating than your run-of-the-mill massage, thanks to the almost-too-much heat bringing you back to focus on the moment instead of letting you drift off. The heat helps release the tension in your back and shoulders, mostly, so those muscles can be worked on more effectively.
Massage developed alongside athletics in both Ancient China and Ancient Greece. Taoist priests developed massage in concert with their Kung Fu gymnastic movements, while Ancient Greek Olympians used a specific type of trainer ("aleiptes")[25] who would rub their muscles with oil. Pehr Ling's introduction to massage also came about directly as a result of his study of gymnastic movements.
The best Thai massage I ever had! I little far from My home but will drive that far for a massage. The owner is very nice and her staff are well trained, courteous and made me so relaxed. The whole experience too all the kinks out of my whole body. You should try the Herbal Ball. I will go back all the time and I highly recommend going to this place.

So if you read my previous reviews, you will see that I use to only see Summer....she answers the phone so its easy to ask her direct for an appt with her.....A month ago, Summer was gone for 2 weeks for Chinese New Year. Lily was still there so I ended up seeing her twice...and enjoyed it. When Summer got back, and to this day, I have yet to see her again for an appt. It almost seems like shes avoiding me....which might be okay, except after I had what can only be described as the WORST appt I have had...by far....given by Lily.
